Sheriff T. Walton told reporters that the gunman opened fire around 5 p.m. Thursday evening at Excel Industries in Hesston, Kansas — about 35 miles northwest of Wichita.
There isn’t much known at this point in time.
The murderer was an employee of Excel Industries in Hesston, which is only one of the five possible shooting sites. Authorities are unsure if the shootings across the state are related at this time.
The shooter was killed by law enforcement.
Multiple authorities are at the scene.
This comes only five days after the Kalamazoo shootings that took the lives of six people in a rampage that spanned over seven hours.
We will add more information as it comes to light.
Food for Thought
When will this madness stop? When will we be able to turn on the news for an entire week and not hear about another mass shooting in our country?
I know people are trying to figure out “why” these men decided to do what they did, but frankly…
I don’t care about them.
I don’t care what motivated this man to shoot at people. I don’t care what his name is or how many guns he owned. I don’t care. We have such a fascination with why mass murderers commit their acts that we release the name of the person who committed this atrocity before we are even able to give the number of people who were murdered. We care more about his background than being relentless in showing the chaos and heartbreak he has created.
So no, I will not give his name, I will not glorify another murderer.
I will not tell you whether or not he had a criminal background, I will not tell you whether or not he had an affinity for guns or what he had on his Facebook.

The truth of the matter is at least four people are confirmed dead. Four families are mourning, and many more sit worried about their families who lay in hospitals. So let’s shut up about the murderer and show the impact of what he has done. Let’s show the after effects of this man’s actions for the families and stop saying his name.
The RIVAL sends our thoughts and prayers to those families.
